Wanda Fischer baseball write and musician

Thank you to author, musician, radio host, and baseball nut Wanda Fischer for sharing the following baseball song gems…

Former pitcher and songwriter Dan Zlotnick let know that that he penned “The Theme from Talkin’ Yanks”…phun tune from Jomboy’s Media’s Talkin’Yanks podcast.

Singer songwriter Annie Wenz let me know about her tune “Play Ball” below.

She is fantastic.

Two votes for “Right Field”

Both Ben Scales and Cheryl Bourn writes us to add the lovely “Right Field” by Willy Welch / Peter, Paul & Mary.

Tim and Susan Mocarski wrote about their two baseball originals…

The first is “Sandlot Boys” from the Struggles and Love album (2017). Susan wrote Sandlot Boys in the fall of 2016 when it seemed people were increasingly becoming divided over what they believed to be true. Writing about a kids’ dispute over a sandlot baseball game, something truly American, seemed like the best way to reflect the times in a way that would reach everyone on both sides.

“Baseball in Heaven” is from Middle of Nowhere (2020). Tim went to the Hall and one of the shops in Cooperstown had a sign that read “If there’s no baseball in heaven, I’m not going.” That seemed to be a good prompt for a song and Tim wrote about his childhood experiences with the greatest game. The sign is now on a wall in their house.`
